The ML Positherm immersion thermocouple is used for measuring the temperature of molten metal. They are manufactured to ISO9000 standards and traceable to NIST standards. The ML Positherm thermocouple gives a fast measurement and has become the standard of the metal casting industry. You can use the ML Positherm in an electric arc, induction furnaces, holding furnaces, ladles, and pouring tundishes. The ML is a low-cost, fast, and accurate thermocouple. You can order the ML Positherm in lengths of 12”, 24”, 36”, 48”, 60”, and 72”. In addition, you can choose either a steel or aluminum cap. The ML is produced in either type S, type B, or type R.  

If you need a no splash application, the ENtherm thermocouple fits onto the sample pole as the ML Positherm but has a non-splash sleeve. The Entherm should be used where a reduced metal splash is needed. Overall lengths are available in 12”, 18” 24” or 36” and the non-splash size comes in 8”, 12” or 20”. The thermocouple can be produced in type S, type B, or type R.
