Silicon Carbide Crucible
Silicon carbide crucibles are used for melting various metals. Silicon carbide crucibles are made in many different shapes. Some of the more common are bilge shape for lift out furnaces, basin or bowl shapes for bale out furnaces, “TP” shape for pour over the top, spouted or spouted basin shapes for crucible tilting furnaces, and cylindrical shaped crucibles for induction furnaces. The main components of the crucible are silicon carbide and natural flake graphite. Silicon carbide crucibles have a carbon bond and include glass-forming elements to protect the product from oxidation. Silicon carbide crucibles have good thermal shock resistance for extended life, high thermal conductivity, and resistance to chemical attack by oxide slags and flux chemicals. We carry many sizes, shapes, and spout configurations. Give us a call to match up your needs today.
